Powering Infrastructure Development
Operating under PHP Family, Bay Terminal & Distribution Company Limited entered the sector with the objective of strengthening Bangladesh’s road and infrastructure network through reliable bitumen processing and distribution. As the first private sector bitumen factory in the country, BTDCL introduced and expanded the use of liquid bulk bitumen in large scale construction projects, improving operational efficiency within the sector.
It is located in Patenga, Chattogram, adjacent to a dedicated jetty, and benefits from strategic marine access for import operations. The plant maintains an annual handling capacity of 1,000,000 metric tons, with approximately 50 percent allocated for bulk handling and 50 percent for drum handling. The in house drum manufacturing unit supports operations with a daily production capacity of 1,500 drums and an annual capacity of 4,000 drums.

BTDCL operates with an integrated supply chain designed to ensure uninterrupted availability of liquid bulk bitumen for national infrastructure projects. The company imports heated petroleum bitumen through specialized marine vessels from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and India, maintaining a stable international sourcing network.
By combining marine access, large scale bulk handling, and internal drum production capabilities, BTDCL ensures efficient storage, processing, and nationwide distribution. This operational structure enables timely supply for major road, highway, and runway projects, reinforcing its reputation for reliability and industrial scale capability.
