Education:

In 1965, he completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Dhaka and later went on to obtain a diploma in Banking.

Career:

The Founder and Chairman of PHP Family, Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman, started his profession as a bank employee back in 1967. He nurtured the dream of establishing Bangladesh’s leading corporate conglomerate with a visionary outlook. This turned into reality in 1999, when he established the PHP Group, presently broadly perceived as the PHP Family. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Dhaka in 1965 and later obtained his diploma in Banking.

Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman

Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman is a revered spiritual figure who practices Sufism every day in addition to his remarkable business accomplishments. He fervently supports Tasawuf, the philosophical path that leads people toward Sufism and inspires people, in particular in the subcontinent. At the helm of the PHP Family stands Mr. Mohammed Mohsin, the Vice-Chairman and eldest child of Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman. His journey in the business world began after he completed his diploma, and since then, he has surmounted various business challenges, demonstrating a combination of innate intelligence and acquired expertise. His visionary financial and marketing strategies have proved instrumental in generating favorable outcomes for the organization.

Mohammed Iqbal Hossain has been instrumental in the establishment of import-replacement businesses throughout his career, including Bangladesh’s pioneering CR Coils & Float Glass manufacturing facilities. Since then, he has been in charge of PHP’s financial discipline to prevent system loss and financial leakage. His primary emphasis has been on ensuring effective discipline and management across various areas such as commerce, purchasing, insurance, trade finance, international business, etc. Under his direct guidance and supervision, these aspects are efficiently handled and controlled. Additionally, he has a keen interest in poetry, music, and socializing.

Subsequently, Mr. Hossain played crucial roles in various units within the PHP Family, including the Aluminum Product Unit, PHP Petro-Refinery, PHP Power Plant, PHP Sand Washing Plant, Tempered Plant, and Mirror Plant, showcasing his versatility and expertise in diverse industries.

Furthermore, he exemplifies his commitment to environmental conservation by overseeing PHP Agro-Products Limited. Under his guidance, the company takes responsibility for significant initiatives like the 108 Plantation Project in Chittagong and other agricultural-oriented projects in the Rajshahi – Dinajpur region. Apart from his exceptional business acumen, Mr. Hossain nurtures a keen interest in literature, cultural activities, and world music, highlighting his appreciation for the arts and diverse cultures. Mohammed Akther Parvez, the youngest son of Alhaj Sufi Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, is a distinguished individual who serves as the Founder and Managing Director of PHP Automobiles. He earned his degree in Business Communication from the University of Canberra, Australia, in 2004. Upon returning to Bangladesh, he joined the family business, PHP Family, and implemented strategies such as introducing shares and bonds to foster the company’s growth. As a result of his efforts, PHP Family now operates six branches across the nation, holding both CSE 031 (Chittagong Stock Exchange) and DSE 235 (Dhaka Stock Exchange) TREC holders and being the director of Chittagong Stock Exchange.

Presently, Mohammed Akther Parvez dedicates his attention to the responsibilities of overseeing the Chittagong Stock Exchange, PHP Automobiles and PHP Stock & Securities Limited. Additionally, he holds the esteemed position of Managing Director at PHP Motor.

Beyond his business endeavors, Mr. Parvez also demonstrates a commitment to enriching the community. He aspires to create spaces that cater to the spiritual well-being and physical growth of the young generation. Mohammed Mizan Victor Mohsin, the eldest grandson of the respected Alhaj Sufi Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, has recently been appointed as a Management Apprentice at PHP Family. His remarkable capabilities as a young and seasoned industrialist have garnered recognition. Additionally, he holds the position of Management Intern at PHP FGIL and serves as the Managing Partner at Oxygen, demonstrating his commitment and expertise in the field.
