Under the name of Bay Terminal & Distribution Company Limited (BTDCL), the PHP Family has ventured into the processing of liquid bulk bitumen. BTDCL was established in 1998 with the aim of importing liquid bulk bitumen and distributing it, along with other construction materials required for roads, highways, airport runways, etc. As the first private sector bitumen factory in Bangladesh, BTDCL innovatively popularized the usage of liquid bulk bitumen in road construction projects. Situated in Chattogram's Patenga neighborhood, adjacent to a jetty, the plant has an impressive handling capacity of 1,000,000 metric tons per year. Approximately 50% of the capacity is utilized for bulk handling, while the remaining 50% is allocated for drum handling. The drum manufacturing facility has a daily production capacity of 1500 drums and an annual production capacity of 4,000 drums. BTDCL imports heated petroleum bitumen through specialized marine boats from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and India, ensuring a steady supply of this essential material.
