Established on August 7, 2003, the Institution of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) holds the distinction of being Bangladesh's first private IT-based university, operating as a non-profit organization. Its sponsorship comes from Information Science & Technology Solution Ltd. (ISTS), a company under the ownership of the PHP group and managed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury. Thanks to the excellent infrastructure and programs provided by UITS, the university effectively manages its operations. Adhering to its vision, mission, and objectives, UITS continued its journey until the government's involvement commenced on August 7, 2003. Recently, UITS has made strides in enhancing students' knowledge and skills while incorporating essential human values into its educational approach. As a scientific and technology-oriented knowledge hub, the university equips the younger generation with valuable and marketable skills, paving the way for lucrative employment opportunities in both domestic and foreign enterprises.
